Jessica is excited to be the rabbinic intern at Slifka this year, focusing on the grad student community. She is a final-year rabbinical student at Hebrew College and also learns with Yashrut. Jessica grew up in Scotland and studied mathematics at Oxford before working as a software engineer and then in interfaith relations.  She is a co-founder of Azara, a new cross-communal British yeshiva opening Jewish learning to everyone. Jessica loves teaching and wrestling with difficult texts, including as a SVARA-HC Talmud Pedagogy Fellow, and was awarded the 2023 Whizin Prize in Jewish Ethics. She is the co-author of poem hashavua, a collection of poems on the weekly Torah portion.
When not learning, she swims, reads, and muses on the best recipe for hot chocolate.
