Host your own Seder
Sign up to host on the RSVP form!
We are excited to support you in hosting your own seder with friends on either the first or second night of Passover!
There are two options for food for your seders. You can pick up food from Slifka during the day on Friday, April 15, or you can prepare your own food and be reimbursed for groceries/food orders. For both of these options, you can pick up a seder plate with all of the ritual items, as well as haggadot (books for the seder) from Slifka on Friday.
To select either of these options, please fill out the RSVP form. You will be asked for the names and SIDs of those attending your seder, since this is how we are able to provide reimbursement or meals.
Who can attend seders?
Slifka Seders are open to all Yale students, staff, faculty, affiliates, and guests in accordance with university policy. To RSVP to attend as a guest, please fill out the RSVP form and send proof of vaccination (including booster) to rachel.leiken@yale.edu. We will follow up with you about payment once you register.
Is there a cost for seders?
Seders are free for all Yale students! For students on meal plan, attendance at a seder will count as your meal swipe for that evening (if this poses a problem for you, please write to rachel.leiken@yale.edu). All Yale affiliates who are not students (staff, faculty, etc.) and their families are asked to pay $18 per person, and other guests are asked to pay $36. While this helps us defray the costs for catering seders, if these amounts present a financial hardship please reach out to rachel.leiken@yale.edu.
All other Passover meals
Throughout Passover, Kosher for Passover meals will be available at Slifka North, 105 Whitney Ave. for lunch and dinner. Those on meal plan can swipe, and the cost for those off meal plan is $13.50 for lunch and $17.50 for dinner. Again, if this presents a hardship please write to rachel.leiken@yale.edu.
In addition to meals at Slifka North, lunchtime meals will also be distributed to students by Unidine at a more central location on campus. The Unidine van will be parked in the parking lot at Slifka Main (80 Wall St.), Monday-Thursday from 12-1 pm. You can stop by the van to pick up lunch for that day. If you are not on a meal plan, please pay in advance at Slifka North.
