Redemption and Inescapable Tragedy

January 24, 2024 @ 8:30 pm - 10:00 pm

What does it mean for Jews to wield political and military power, and to be engaged in ongoing – at times violent – conflict with others, and yet to insist on imagining peace? In this session we will navigate Judaism’s  rich, fraught, and ultimately tragic images of war and redemption – which together aim to expand our hearts to hold anguish and relief, protest and pride, all at once.
