In her 16-page comic, third-generation Holocaust survivor Mia Rose Kohn illustrates her trip to Auschwitz in May of 2024. What does one wear to a death camp? Is one supposed to breathe inside a gas chamber, or photograph graying human hair? Should horror be documented? The comic treats pain with humor and ugliness with beauty. On April 18th at 2 p.m., Mia will deliver a reading and answer questions in a talk-back moderated by Betty Kubovy-Weiss. Hand-bound copies of the comic (along with snacks) will be provided.
